Big Korean Food Map/List

Korean Food Map

So as you may or may not know, I already made a graphic about Korean food in the form of a periodic table last year. Now while that covered a lot of food, it really didn’t scratch the surface (as I found out while making this one) so I wanted to make a new one covering as many as possible.

This Korean food map/guide took a lot of research and I’ve probably put more hours into this one that any one before it. I was also craving food while making it. I couldn’t believe how many foods I’ve never even heard of and I still don’t think I got them all. I’ll probably do a revision later on as even though I double and triple checked it, I may have left some mistakes and left out some well known foods. Click for a closer look and go try some of ’em out.

Different Types of Jeon (Korean Pancake)

Types of Korean Jeon

Jeon is one of my top 5 favorite Korean foods. Although greasy at times, it fills me up and it’s great with Magkeolli (especially in the wintertime). Many expats seem to like it too (most seem to prefer Pajeon), but I soon found out that there are many many others. So many, that I couldn’t fit them all into one graphic. My favorite is Kkaennipjeon. When they serve it at school, I usually eat about 10-15 of them.

Hyo and I also made this type of jeon back during the Chuseok holidays. Very fun! go try some of these out if you haven’t already.

10 Korean Foods to Eat in the Winter

So there you have it. These are not all the winter foods that are popular, but the most common ones you can find. My personal favorite is Ho-tteok. Sweet and filling…I can’t get enough of ’em. Hyo likes the roasted chestnuts although I’m not really fond of them. Actually many of the foods on this list, but Hyo gave me the idea for the graphic and let me know which ones were pretty popular.

8 Popular Korean Alcoholic Drinks

These seemed to be the most popular ones that I have come across while out with friends or coworkers. I’m particularly fond of Magkeolli, especially with Pajeon and any type of Jeon. Yummy. Click the picture for a closer look.
