We don’t use a lot of these as we think most are very cheesy and too cute for us. You can hear these terms used all throughout Korean dramas and Kpop songs if you watch/listen to them.

We do have a few nicknames for each other. “Baby girl” (Aaliyah reference) is a favorite for her and she likes calling me “애기” which means baby.

A list of vocabulary in the graphic:

애인 (ae-in) = Sweetheart

연인 (yeon-in) = Couple

여보 (yeo-bo) = Darling/Honey (for married couples)

자기야 (ja-gi-ya) = Baby/Honey

내 사랑 (nae sa-rang) = My love

부부 (bu-bu) = Married couple

여자친구 (여친) (yeo-ja-chin-gu) = Girlfriend

공주님 (gong-ju-nim) = Princess

우리 강아지 (u-ri gang-a-ji) = My puppy

찡찡이 (jjing-jjing-i) = Cute term for a girl who whines

남자친구 (남친) (nam-ja-chin-gu) = Boyfriend

오빠 (o-ppa) = Honey (used to by women towards an older man)

서방님 (seo-bang-nim) = Husband

왕자님 (wang-ja-nim) = Prince
