Making this was…interesting…because I know this is a daily part of Korean life and it would be good info, but….I don’t like kimchi. I’ve lived in Korea for 5 years and I still don’t like it. I always have to stand my ground at lunchtime at my school when other teachers might (kind of annoyingly) ask why I didn’t put kimchi on my tray (mostly happened my first year here though).

Maybe it will grow on my one day. I didn’t like mushrooms a few years ago and now I love them. Hyo is confident my taste will change in the future.

    To me, 깍두기 & 설렁탕 are one of the most epic combinations ever. But I can understand some people don’t like kimchi the same way I can’t eat spicy food like 떡볶이, intestines like 곱창 or 순대, or even 산낙지… (I can’t even think about it). I hate it when I feel kind of forced to explain myself about something I shouldn’t need to explain… I don’t like it, that’s it. So I really understand how you feel about this, since kimchi is like the kind of food you will always find as a 반찬 wherever you go in Korea. 화이팅!
